Airlines and Flights to the Cook Islands

The Cook Islands has a thriving airline service known as Air Rarotonga. Primarily flying domestic routes to eight of the Cook's outer islands, it has added (April 2007) a new International route to and from Tahiti's Faa'a Airport. The new international route utilises Air Tahiti ATR72 aircraft.

Below are the outer islands and atolls to which Air Rarotonga flies from its base in Rarotonga.

Flights from Rarotonga are available to the following destinations:

  • Aitutaki
  • Atiu
  • Mangaia
  • Manihiki
  • Mauke
  • Mitiaro
  • Penrhyn
  • Pukapuka

Flights to Rarotonga: Main International flights into and out of the Cook Islands are from New Zealand (Air New Zealand), Australia (Pacific Blue - Virgin), USA (Air New Zealand), Fiji (Air New Zealand), and Tahiti (Air New Zealand and Air Rarotonga). Since the introduction of Virgin's Pacific Blue service to Cook Islands, it is often possible to find cheap flights to Rarotonga. This makes it an excellent time to pack your bags and check out accommodation in Rarotonga!
