The name of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands is known world-wide as an exotic South Seas holiday destination. The island is fringed by an outer reef enclosing a turquoise blue lagoon, and white coral sand beaches can be found in almost all locations. Perfect for general vacations and holidays ... or that special Cook Islands honeymoon! A coastal road provides easy access to Rarotonga accommodation so it's easy to get around. The island is roughly oval in shape and is only about 9 km wide from east to west and 4.25 km wide from north to south. A round the island bus service has regular scheduled runs in both directions. It is hardly surprising that Rarotonga holidays are very popular.
